Four girls are being treated in hospital for burns after an accident involving aerosols in Drogheda yesterday.

The four are in a stable condition and are being treated for burn-related injuries in Tallaght and Crumlin hospitals.

Gardaí are investigating what happened, although it is not a criminal inquiry.

It is thought the four girls were in an upstairs bedroom in a house when an aerosol ignited causing an explosion.

It is believed some structural damage was caused to the house including the collapse of an internal wall.
