The bank said customers would not face extra charges

Bank of Ireland has said all payments that were due to be made yesterday were sent to customer accounts overnight.

Around 100,000 civil servants, teachers and gardaí did not receive their wages yesterday because of the technical difficulties.

Anyone who has not seen the expected payment in their account should check their account for updates throughout the morning.

They should contact their bank if they continue to experience any issues, Bank of Ireland said.

The bank apologised for the problems and assured those affected that they would not face any extra charges.
