A 42-year-old motorcyclist has died in a single-vehicle crash in Aughrim, Co Wicklow.

The man lost control of his motorbike at Cronebeg at around 12.10am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination will take place at St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown.

The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
