A woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man, who was found dead at his home in Dublin yesterday evening.

Tyrone McKenna, 42, was discovered by his father at the house in Marley Court, Rathfarnham at around 5pm.

He had been stabbed in the back and his body was found at the bottom of the stairs.

Gardaí have begun a murder investigation and are following a definite line of inquiry.

Mr McKenna's body was removed from his home for a post-mortem examination this morning.

His father, Thomas, had lived with him and his girlfriend, with whom he had only been in a relationship for the past few months, also spent some time there.

Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis carried out a preliminary examination at the scene.
