A man in his 20s has been injured after he was shot in the elbow in Cork city.

The man was walking with another man in Knocknaheeny when they were approached by two men on a motorcycle at around 9pm.

The passenger on the motorcycle fired a shot, which hit one of the men in the arm.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.

A man in his 20s was arrested by gardaí from Gurranabraher a short time later.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Gurranabraher Garda Station.

The incident is believed to be linked to a local feud.
