Five people have been killed and four injured in a shooting in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.

Gunmen got out of a vehicle and opened fire on people who were at the door of a business that rents computers with internet access in Carapicuíba, witnesses told police.

"Apparently this was a place where drugs were sold," a spokesperson for the Sao Paulo military police said.

There were no immediate arrests and police said they were investigating the crime.

Carapicuba lies to the northwest of the city of Sao Paulo, away from major tourist attractions.
