Planned strike action today and ongoing industrial action by IMPACT members at South Dublin County Council have been suspended.

The action was a response to a dispute which centred on a decision by the council to withdraw 'acting-up' and project allowances paid to staff for performing additional duties.

The union has accepted proposals tabled by the Labour Relations Commission to resolve the dispute.

Under the proposals, the LRC will chair a review of the staffing structure in South Dublin County Council with both parties making submissions on the workforce plan.

The review is to be completed by 5 September.

Staff members who experienced a pay cut will have the monies restored to them until such time as the review has been completed.
