The murder trial of a 22-year-old man has begun at the Cork Circuit Criminal Court before Judge Paul Carney.

Dean Crinnion of Blackwater Grove in Togher in Cork city is charged with the murder of father-of-two Gerald Delaney from Mahon in Cork on 27 December 2011.

Mr Delaney died from stab wounds after a row outside the Manhattan Bar on Lower Friars Walk in Cork.

Mr Crinnion is also charged with affray and also being in possession of a knife. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.
