Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to fatal crash

A 70-year-old man has died following a single vehicle crash in Co Monaghan.

The crash happened at Coolcollid, Glaslough between 6pm on Thursday night and 5am on Friday morning.

The man's body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post mortem will be carried out.

The road was closed for a time to facilitate a forensic examination and has since been reopened.
