Sinn Féin's Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty has criticised a new social media advertising campaign from AIB bank during this morning's Order of Business in the Dáil.

He said that he was surprised to hear AIB advertising that young people should not wait until payday before they buy their Electric Picnic ticket as they should buy them with their AIB credit card.

Deputy Doherty said it was "a very much throw back to the problems that got us to where we are."

"Today a State bank AIB has began a social network campaign, aimed at young people, telling young people not to wait to payday to buy their Electric Picnic tickets and to use AIB credit cards.

"There are no terms and conditions in the ads," said the Donegal South West TD.
