Holidaymakers who were involved in an emergency landing at Cork Airport last night departed for Spain this afternoon.

The passenger plane with 155 people on board made the emergency landing at 11.45pm.

The pilot of the Boeing 737-300 series charter flight from Belfast to Reus reported a suspected fuel leak off the south coast and diverted to Cork.

The airport's emergency response plan was activated when the alert was raised, but stood down shortly after the plane landed safely.

The passengers and crew were accommodated in Cork overnight before continuing their journey this afternoon.
