Six people have been arrested in Northern Ireland as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity.

Five men, aged between 31 and 58, and a 32-year-old woman were detained during searches in west Belfast and Dunmurry in Co Antrim.

They are being questioned at the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station.

The PSNI said the investigation is in relation to punishment style attacks.
