Minister for Children Charlie Flanagan has called for submissions from interested parties on what should be covered by the inquiry into mother-and-baby homes.

The Government hopes to set up the Commission of Investigation before the Dáil recess and is looking for information in order to draw up the terms of reference.

Individuals and organisations can submit details by email to: motherandbabyhomes@dcya.gov.ie

Mr Flanagan said he will also be meeting advocacy groups and political party spokespeople this month.

A scoping report should be concluded by the end of this month.

The Minister also announced that individuals affected by issues around mother-and-baby homes can also contact the CONNECT counselling service at Freephone 1800 477 477.
