A seven-year-old boy has died after falling from cliffs near Ballycastle on the Co Antrim coast.

Logan Crawford, who was from the seaside town, was last seen playing with friends near the cliffs at Castle Point.

He was found on rocks at the bottom of the cliffs and airlifted to hospital but died there of his injuries.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said the incident was reported shortly before 7.15pm yesterday.

The search for Logan involved the RNLI, the Northern Ireland Coast Guard and a Royal Navy helicopter.

The PSNI spokesperson said: "Inquiries are continuing."
