A 38-year-old old man who is wanted in connection with the killing of Co Galway publican and teacher John Kenny almost three years ago is due to be extradited back to Ireland to face trial.
Marian Lingurar, who had an address at Blackpool in Cork, was arrested in France and is in custody in Marseille.
He was charged with the manslaughter of John Kenny at Kenny's Bar on Main Street Oughterard on 25 September 2011 but subsequently failed to turn up for his trial.
He was arrested in France on foot of a European Arrest warrant and officers from the Garda extradition unit have travelled to Marseille after he consented to his extradition to Ireland
He is expected to appear before a court in Galway next Thursday.
