Two women have been arrested following the suspicious death of a man in Ongar in Dublin overnight.

Ian Quinn, 32, was found dead at an apartment at Annaly Grove in Ongar at around 4am.

Two women in their 30s were arrested at the scene.

Garda sources say there were no obvious injuries to his body but they believe that he was subjected to an assault and did not die of natural causes.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and a post mortem examination will be carried out later today.

They are being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station and can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
