A 65-year-old woman will be sentenced next week for materially assisting the killer of her husband by disposing of evidence almost 30 years ago.
Vera McGrath of Volvenstown, Fordstown, Navan, Co Meath has been arraigned before the Central Criminal Court on Monday.
She was charged with materially assisting the killer of her 43-year-old husband, Bernard Brian McGrath, by disposing of evidence connected with his manslaughter at Lower Coole, Westmeath.
The charge stated that the manslaughter had been committed by Colin Pinder and related to a date unknown between 16 March and 18 April 1987.
She pleaded guilty to the charge and this plea was accepted by the prosecution.
Mr Justice Paul Carney adjourned sentencing this afternoon until next Thursday.
He remanded Ms McGrath on continuing bail until that date.
