Gardaí seize €850,000 worth of tobacco in Dundalk

Gardaí have recovered tobacco valued in the region of €850,000 following a search of a premises in Dundalk, Co Louth.

The search was carried out by gardaí at 7.45am this morning at Proleek, Ravensdale, Dundalk.

During the course of the search gardaí uncovered the tobacco, as well as empty pouches, equipment for sealing pouches, boxes of cigarettes, alcohol labels and 60 litres of what appears to be un-distilled alcohol.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination and the items seized are to be taken for analysis.

No arrests have been made at this point.
