Teenager arrested after Dublin hijacking

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after he hijacked a taxi in Dublin early this morning.

The incident occurred at around 5.25am when the teenager got into the taxi on Terenure Road North and threatened the driver with a knife.

The boy demanded money and ordered the driver out of the car before driving off in the direction of the city centre.

He collided with another car on Old Cabra Road and was arrested close to the scene.

He is being held at Rathmines Garda Station.

No one was injured in either incident
