Man arrested after cash-in-transit robbery at Clare Hall Shopping Centre

A man has been arrested after a cash-in-transit robbery at Clare Hall Shopping Centre, on the Malahide Road, in Dublin.

At around 12.10pm a man approached and threatened a cash-in-transit employee with an iron bar.

He took a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money and made his escape in a waiting car.

During a follow up operation gardaí from Coolock arrested a 20-year-old man.

He is currently being detained at Coolock Garda Station.

The car used in the raid was located a short distance from the scene and has been preserved for a technical examination. The cash box has not been recovered and enquiries are ongoing.
