The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has invited GAA President Liam O'Neill and GAA Director General Páraic Duffy to appear before the committee on Tuesday to discuss the GAA's recent deal with Sky.

The deal gives the broadcaster exclusive rights to 14 matches in the senior football and hurling championships.

It is understood that Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley asked the committee to invite the GAA representatives to appear before it and it was unanimously supported.

The meeting will take place at 12pm on Tuesday.
