A man in his 30s has been shot and seriously injured in Dublin.

The victim managed to make his way into Clondalkin Garda Station at about 6.15pm before collapsing.

He had been shot a number of times in the neck and upper body.

Gardaí have established that he was shot in the car park of Bawnogue Church, but managed to drive to the garda station.

He has been taken to hospital, where he is in a critical condition.

The church car park, part of Tower Road and Clondalkin Garda Station have been declared crime scenes and have been sealed off for forensic examinations.
