A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Drogheda, Co Louth yesterday evening.

A 35-year-old man was shot in the leg in the Moneymore estate at about 6pm.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, where his injuries are described as non-life threatening.

The arrested man is being questioned at Drogheda Garda Station.
