Galway student Patrick Halpin died from brain injuries consistent with a fall.

Tests were carried out on the 18-year-old's remains after an initial post mortem did not establish the cause of death.

Mr Halpin, who was from Loughrea, went missing while on a night out in London last month.

His body was later found in an enclosed area off Leicester Square near to where he was last seen.

He was on a trip to London with other students when he became separated from his friends.

Police said they were not treating his death as suspicious.

An inquest into Mr Halpin's death will be held at Westminster Coroners Court at a future date.
