More than 100 piers and harbours damaged during the winter storms are to share an €8.5m repair fund.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Simon Coveney made the announcement today.
A further €14.6m is being made available in capital spending for harbour development works this year.
This is almost a 50% increase on last year's capital funding.
The repair fund will be spread across 115 piers and harbours in 11 local authority areas.
North Harbour on Cape Clear in west Cork, which was particularly badly damaged, will receive €1.3m.
More than €11m has been allocated in capital spending for work at six fishery harbour centres at Howth, Dunmore East, Castletownbere, Dingle, Ros a Mhíl and Killybegs.
