Two arrests as Cabra death is investigatedTuesday 18 March 2014 22.05
Two men are being questioned about a fatal attack on a 21-year-old man in Dublin this morning.
Jason Saunders, who lived on Fassaugh Avenue where he was attacked, was found with serious head injuries in Cabra at around 7.30am.
Gardaí believe he had been beaten with a golf club after leaving a party at a flat near his home.
He was taken to the Mater Hospital but pronounced dead there an hour later.
A 25-year-old man is being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station on suspicion of withholding information, while a 23-year-old is being detained at Finglas on suspicion of murder.
Gardaí say a number of people arrived at the party in the early hours and have appealed to witnesses to contact them - in particular a taxi driver who dropped people off.
Gardaí searched the flat this morning and a number of men who were there at the time left with them.
Some of the people who attended the party had been drinking all St Patrick's Day and continued into the early hours.
Gardaí believe the man was killed because of a drunken row.
They are gathering CCTV footage from local businesses as part of their investigation.
