A long-running pay dispute at the Liebherr container crane manufacturing plant in Killarney, Co Kerry has been resolved.

The dispute had threatened the future of the plant, which employees 670 people.

The company had warned that its viability had been seriously compromised.

SIPTU members, who make up around 300 of the employees, accepted settlement proposals brokered by director of conciliation at the Labour Relations Commission, Kevin Foley.

A ballot of SIPTU members at Liebherr took place over the past two days.

The dispute had been on-going for four years.
