The charity Concern has said it is disappointed that the Government will not meet its target for increasing foreign aid.

The Government made a commitment to seek to increase aid to 0.7% of GDP by 2015, but it has emerged that the target will be missed.

CEO of Concern Dominic MacSorley, said while the move was expected, it was disappointing.

Minister for Overseas Aid Joe Costello said it was not true to say Ireland had abandoned its aid targets.
