Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man in Coleraine Co Derry.

The 46-year-old was found outside a residential property on Strand Road around 3.50am.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for head injuries, but was pronounced dead.

Two people have been arrested and are helping police with their inquiries while the facts are being established.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has appealed for anyone who was in the Strand Road area in the early hours of Saturday morning to contact them.
