Thousands of people have marched in Dublin calling for more recognition of the Irish language by the Government and the government of Northern Ireland.

The organisers of the Lá Mór na Gaeilge protest said people living in Gaeltacht areas are not able to access State services through Irish.

They also said state service providers in Northern Ireland are hostile towards the language.
