Residents near Croke Park voice concern over number of summer gigsThursday 13 February 2014 11.30
Residents who live within the "lockdown" area during large events at Croke Park say they are not prepared to sacrifice their quality of life to accommodate the proposed eight concert events scheduled to take place at the stadium this summer.
Garth Brooks is scheduled to play five gigs at the stadium this summer, while boy band One Direction will play three.
Residents say Croke Park is in breach of the original planning permission, which states the number of special events shall not exceed three per year.
They are demanding a stop to the intensification of use of the stadium and a limit on the numbers of big events to the original planning condition.
