Police in the North have said that a three-month-old baby girl, who was admitted to hospital with injuries on Wednesday, has died.

It comes after a 23-year-old man appeared before Craigavon Magistrates' Court earlier today charged in connection with the incident.

A PSNI spokesman said a post mortem will be carried out in the coming days and that the case will be referred to the Public Prosecution Service.

Detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch have examined a house in the Twinbrook area on the outskirts of west Belfast.
