A 39-year-old woman from Co Down in Northern Ireland has been murdered in Australia.

Comrie Cullen, who was married with three young children, was found stabbed to death yesterday in a car park at Taren Point, Sydney.

A man who suffered stab wounds was found close to the scene.

Police in New South Wales said he had been arrested and was under police guard in hospital.

In a statement issued through the PSNI, the family said: "Our family is devastated by Comrie's tragic death and we would ask for no media intrusion at this time."
