Three people have been arrested after two separate cannabis cultivation operations, with a combined estimated street value of €440,000, were uncovered in Co Clare.

At around 10am today gardaí searched a house in Lislanahan, Kilkee, where some 200 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of €160,000, were discovered.

A 23-year-old man and a woman, also 23, were arrested and are currently being detained at Kilrush Garda Station.

In the second operation gardaí searched a property in Tullaroe, Kilkee, where around 300 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €280,000 were discovered.

A man in his 50s was arrested and is currently being held at Ennis Garda Station.
