Man attacked and robbed in Limerick after reported casino win

Three people are being questioned about an assault and robbery in Limerick in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood a man in his 30s was attacked and robbed after leaving a casino in the city.

It is believed he had won a substantial sum of money.

Gardaí are investigating an incident on the N20 at Dooradoyle shortly after 1.30am during which the man's car was rammed and he was robbed.

The victim was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

During follow up searches today four arrests were made.

Two men are being held at Roxboro Garda Station.

A woman is being held at Henry Street Garda Station.

Another woman arrested has since been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

All four are aged in their mid 20s to 30s.
