Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found at a senior citizens' housing complex in Dublin earlier this week.

The body of Thomas Horan, 63, was discovered at Cambridge Court in Ringsend on Monday morning at 4am.

His body was discovered by a friend who visited his home.

A post mortem by State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy at the city morgue this afternoon established that Mr Horan died violently.

A 27-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, who were arrested this afternoon, are being held at Donnybrook and Irishtown Garda Stations.

Cambridge Court is a sheltered housing complex for senior citizens run by Dublin City Council.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have been in the Cambridge Court/Road area between 10pm on Sunday 5 January and 4am on 6 January to contact Irishtown Garda Station on 01 6669600, the Garda Confidential line 1800 666 111 or any Garda statoin.
