Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said that when the bailout programme ends of Sunday, Ireland will stand without "shackles" around its feet.
Speaking in Ballyfermot in Dublin this afternoon, Mr Kenny said it would mean Ireland would have the same security and opportunities as any other country in the eurozone.
He said the Government intended to use those opportunities.
Mr Kenny also said that the Government is working on resolving the country's public finances and getting Ireland working again.
He said there is a long way to go, but that he is happy with the progress Ireland is making.
He said the country is moving in the right direction.
