Two motorcyclists killed in separate incidents

Two people have died in separate motorbike crashes in Cork and Wicklow.

An investigation is being carried out after a man died when his motorbike hit a wall in Ballincollig in Cork.

The incident happened at around 5.15pm.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Ballincollig Garda Station on 021-4214680, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any garda station.

Separately, a 50-year-old man died in a crash involving two motorcycles and a car in Co Wicklow.

The crash happened at around 1.50pm on the R755 at Ballinastoe near Roundwood.

One of the motorcyclists was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to St Columcille's Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A second motorcyclist and the driver of the car were also injured in the collision and were taken to St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
