Two men have been stabbed during a robbery at an apartment in Limerick in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí said a man entered the apartment at Lower Glentworth Street at around 1.20am.

The men, aged 22 and 23, were wounded in the alleged assault and property, including money and mobile phones, was stolen.

They were taken to University Hospital Limerick, where their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 34-year-old man was arrested a short time later and is being questioned at Henry Street Garda Station.
