A 42-year-old man has died in a single-vehicle crash in Ballyhale, Co Kilkenny.

The crash happened yesterday at around 9.15pm on the N9 at Knockwilliam.

The man who died had been driving in the direction of Mullinavat when his car crashed into a bridge.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
