80 jobs set to go at Co Mayo firmTuesday 05 November 2013 23.39
Co Mayo-based medical supplies company Homecare is to make 80 of its staff redundant.
The firm said the jobs will be lost as a result of the termination of a Health Service Executive contract for recycling of aids and appliances.
The redundancies will occur in the service area of the business.
Homecare said 50 jobs will go at a service centre in Kiltimagh, Co Mayo and 15 will be lost in Ballyhaunis.
A further 15 positions will be lost at the company's facility in Clonee in Co Meath.
The company said that while the number of job losses reflect a large proportion of the workforce, 70 other positions are unaffected by the contract termination.
Staff have been informed of the decision and negotiations on redundancy arrangements are under way.
