Man killed in Monaghan road crash

A man in his mid 20s has died following a road crash in Co Monaghan this morning.

The two-vehicle collision happened on the N2 Dublin-Monaghan road, south of Carrickmacross at the Dundalk exit.

The man who died had been driving one of the vehicles involved the crash.

Two occupants in the second vehicle have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, but their injuries are unknown.

The road is closed and diversions are in place.
