An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a 19-year-old man was killed as he crossed the road at the Monasterboice exit from the M1 in Louth.

The pedestrian was struck by a car eight kilometres north of Drogheda on the old N1 at around 8.30pm on 27 October.

The driver of the car was uninjured.
