A Sinn Féin councillor has said parents are fearful after a man allegedly tried to tempt two children into his vehicle in separate incidents in Co Donegal.
It has been reported that both incidents, in Bridgend and Buncrana, took place on the evening of Monday 30 September.
Cllr Ciaran MacLochlainn, from Buncrana, lives near the area where a man in a blue car allegedly tried to lure a child into his vehicle.
He said: "The people in my area, normally every evening there are children out playing.
"The last few nights the children have been kept indoors.
"There is genuine fear, and many parents are refusing to allow their children outside the front door."
Gardaí are investigating the incidents after they received reports that two children were approached by a man in a grey or silver car.
They are trying to ascertain whether the incidents are connected.
