A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Audrius Butkus, whose body was discovered on Mornington beach in Co Meath three weeks ago.
The man, who is aged in his 50s, was arrested in the Drogheda area.
He is being held at Drogheda Garda Station.
Mr Butkus, 44, was originally from Lithuania, but had been living in Ireland for four years.
A post-mortem examination found that he was stabbed several times and sustained serious head injuries.
