Ferry operator refused to run services last night and again this morning in dispute with hotel receiver

A ferry link to a Waterford island hotel resort has stopped running in a continuing dispute that has left guests stranded.

The row is between the receiver at Waterford Castle and the ferry operator.

Located on an island in the River Suir near the city centre, the luxury complex includes a hotel, golf club, and lodges.

The ferry link operator decided to stop the service at around 8pm last night.

It was thought the dispute had been resolved when services resumed after two hours but sailings were suspended again this morning.

The hotel went into receivership a few months ago but is still operating.

Gardaí are present but officers say the matter is a civil dispute.
