A man in his 40s has died in a road collision in Co Meath.

The pedestrian was struck by a car on Castle Street in Trim at around 12.50am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

Another man, aged in his 20s, was also injured in the incident and is being treated at Our Lady’s Hospital in Drogheda.

His injuries are described as serious.

The driver of the car was not injured.
