Gardaí say there were no major problems throughout the three-day Electric Picnic festival in Co Laois last weekend.
Superintendent Yvonne Lundon said there were a small number of arrests for drunkenness, public order offences and drug seizures.
However, she said she was particularly impressed with the awareness of drink-driving issues this year.
A large number of people consulted with gardaí and were voluntarily breathalysed at their own request before they drove home from the event.
Separately, gardaí say they have not yet received the results of a post-mortem examination on the body of a 20-year-old man who died at the festival.
Phil McConnell from Malahide in Dublin was taken to hospital in Portlaoise after being found unconscious in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It is understood he had an underlying heart condition and gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.
