Irish man killed in Namibia

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is providing assistance to the family of an Irish man killed in Namibia.

It is understood the man was shot in an incident last night.

He has been named locally as Ray Prendiville formally of Dromulton, Scartaglin, Co Kerry.

Mr Prendiville was a retired garda who had gone on to work in the security business in Africa. He was in his 60s.
