Gardaí held over alleged fraudulent activityTuesday 27 August 2013 22.00
Two gardaí have been arrested in relation to alleged fraudulent activity in the Dublin area.
The gardaí, both men in their 30s, are being questioned at Lexilip Garda Station in Co Kildare.
Both are serving officers stationed in the Dublin area.
They were arrested this morning by detectives from the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation as part of a probe into alleged fraudulent activity.
It is understood it relates to allegations about the use of bank cards at ATMs.
The investigation centres on concerns over cash withdrawals being made, with the bank later receiving complaints a faulty machine had not dispensed the money.
Funds may then have been reimbursed to accounts.
Relatively small amounts of money are said to be involved.
